3. Special Meeting Re: Diaz Settlement
   Motions:
   

   I recommend that the School Board approve the Settlement Agreement and General Release between the School District of Palm Beach County; Isabel Diaz; and National Conference of Firemen & Oilers, SEIU, Local 1227 , a copy of which is attached hereto, and authorize the execution of all related documents.	-	PASS
   Minutes: On June 28, 2006, the School District approved an unpaid suspension and termination of employment. NCF&O timely filed a class action grievance of which Ms. Diaz was a par in appeal of the School Board action. The claims have been settled and the parties acknowledge this is the entire agreement and there are no other representations other than what is contained in the Settlement Agreement. Settlement is in the amount of $7,442.92. This Settlement is in the best interest of the District. The attached Settlement Agreement is subject to School Board approval. Mrs. Burdick questioned the measures that will be put in place to assure this situation will not happen again in the future. Mr. Kanjian questioned how the settlement amount was determined. Dr. Robinson questioned if there was probable cause and suggested that each future action require a comment from counsel as to whether he believes there is probable cause.
